Sacrament of Marriage
Contact Monsignor Mike Hazard, ext. 103 Michael Hazard
The Church welcomes a couple as they begin their life of committed, faithful love, and celebrates the wedding of its members in the context of our prayer as Christians. Thus we come together as a community asking God’s blessing on them and giving them our prayerful support.
Application for a Declaration of Nullity
Contact Monsignor Mike Hazard, ext. 103 Michael Hazard
The Catholic Church is concerned about those who have experienced the pain of divorce and seeks to minister to them. The application process begins in the parish and applicants are welcomed with respect and understanding.
Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick
Contact Monsignor Mike Hazard ext. 103 Michael Hazard
The grace of this sacrament is a spiritual healing by which the sick person receives the Holy Spirit’s gift of peace and courage to deal with the discouragement and difficulties of serious illness or the limitations of advanced age. Prayers are included for physical healing if that be the will of God. The appropriate time to request this sacrament for oneself or another is at the time of serious illness, during chronic illness, or prior to surgery.
Sacrament of Baptism
Contact Sister Mary Catherine Fodrocy, OP, ext 108 Sr. Mary Catherine
Rebirth which makes us sharers in the life of God and members of the Church, the Body of Christ is among the many graces of Baptism. We celebrate the baptism of infants in groups with other families several times during the year. Adults and children old enough to be instructed take part in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). This process includes prayer, instruction, community experience and service which lead to full initiation into the life and mission of Jesus as lived by the Church. The sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist are celebrated at the Easter Vigil the night before Easter.
Holy Communion to the Homebound
Contact Sister Mary Catherine Fodrocy, OP, ext 108 Sr. Mary Catherine

St. Joseph Parish has both a Pastoral Council and a Finance Council, each with connected commissions. The two councils are distinct in function but are related because both are concerned with the life and mission of the parish. Both councils and the commissions are consultative to the pastor; the Pastoral Council and Commissions in matters of major pastoral concern, the Finance Council and its commission in matters of financial concern.
Pastoral Council and Commissions
Pastoral Council - comprised of parishioners whose role is to supply input to the pastor concerning the needs of the parish. The focus is on the prayerful identification and consideration of issues concerning parish life and the direction in which the parish is being called to carry out its mission. The format is based on prayer, reflection on Sacred Scripture relating to the issue being considered, and discussion of the issue. The parish staff meets with the pastoral council at various times during the year to clarify a common direction. The council meetings occur the second Wednesday of the month from September through June at 7:00 PM (7:30 PM when the staff attends) in the parish library. The meetings are open to guests.
