In preparation for a meeting of the bishops from around the world in 2023, Pope Francis has asked every diocese to take time to ask for the Holy Spirit’s guidance and to listen to the Holy Spirit’s direction. How are we making a journey together under the direction of the Holy Spirit? Are we pursuing our own agendas, or doing what the Spirit desires? How are the People of God moving together within the Church, and how do we interact with other religions, institutions, and people?
Here in our Diocese, we’re making plans to bring people together during the next several months, not to generate lengthy documents, but “to plant dreams, draw forth prophecies and visions, allow hope to flourish, inspire trust, bind up wounds, weave together relationships, awaken a dawn of hope, learn from one another … so that we can enlighten minds, warm hearts, and give strength to our hands.”
Imagine what we can do when we do it together. Are We Listening to the Holy Spirit? Questions? Send your inquiries to officeofcommunications@diokzoo.org
